November 15th, 2011 - 12:59 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 14 (IANS) The Delhi government Monday introduced another 50 semi-floor buses in the north and west parts of the capital under the cluster bus services.
Under the PPP model, the first fleet of cluster buses was launched in May with 100 buses in south Delhi. With the introduction of these 50 buses, their number has gone up to 150.
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Transport Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely inaugrated the buses at a function.
The new lot of the buses habe modern features like passenger information, GPS and electronic display board.
Speaking on this occasion, Dikshit expressed hope that the orange buses under Cluster-2 will supplement the existing public transport system apart from providing comfortable service to the commuter.
“We are working very hard to improve our public transport system and cluster bus service is part of that sustained effort,” she said.
