Andhra allots 1,000 acres for Prism Cement plant
October 29th, 2011 - 9:52 pm ICT by IANSHyderabad, Oct 29 (IANS) The Andhra Pradesh government Saturday decided to allot 1,000 acres of land to Prism Cement Limited for its cement plant in Kurnool district.
The decision was taken at the state cabinet meeting, which was presided over by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Information and Public Relations Minister D.K. Aruna told reporters that the cabinet decided to allot the land to the company at a cost of Rs.100,000 per acre.
The cabinet took the decision after officials briefed the ministers that the cement plant would help in the development of the region.
Prism Cement, one of the leading building materials company, plans to set up cement plant with a capacity of two million tonnes at Kothapadu and Kalvartha in Kurnool district at a cost of Rs.5 billion.
