Amity Signs MoU with MOEF on Animal Welfare
December 10th, 2009 - 6:05 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )NOIDA, Dec.10 (ANI): An MoU was signed between Amity Institute of Training and Development (AITD) Noida and the National Institute of Animal Welfare, functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF), Government of India.
Under the provisions of MoU, AITD will conduct twenty two training programmes spread over forty training weeks within the next one year. The objectives of these training programmes will be to spread awareness on Animal Welfare among concerned organizations, departments, professionals, scientists, veterinary doctors and students.
Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President of Amity Group, expressed his concern over the negligence of animals in our country.
He said that in other countries, special animal husbandries are created to take care of animals.
Chauhan said Amity has its own riding academy with nine well bred horses where extensive care is provided to the equestrians. Amity also has its own dog academy of 45 dogs in which specialized training is given to the dogs.
Amity is also running its Dairy research projects having 40 cows at Amity Valley, Gurgaon.
The MoU was signed by K S Bains, Director General, Amity Institute of Training and Development and Anjani Kumar, Director NIAW along with Mr. O P Joshi, Under Secretary represented MoEF during the signing ceremony. Training will be conducted at National Institute of Animal Welfare, Ballabhgarh.
The programme duration shall be of one to four weeks which will help increase the interest of future citizens of India in animal welfare.
The major subjects that will be covered during the training programmes will include Animal Welfare and Rights, under prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, Animal Birth Control & Immunization, Human Animal Relationship programme and statutory provisions with particular reference to animal Ethics and Experiments on animals.
