January 7th, 2011 - 5:27 pm ICT by ANIChandigarh, Jan.7 (ANI): AISECT, which is India’s largest Education and Training Services network, has launched its Common Service Centre (CSC) project in Punjab.
The organization had recently signed an agreement with the Government of Punjab for setting up 585 CSCs in three districts — Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Nawan Shahar.
Following a detailed research and evaluation process of the target regions, the company is now ready with a plan of action for successful execution of this prestigious project. Being responsible for setting up 2926 centers in Madhya Pradesh and 1487 in Chhattisgarh, AISECT is Central India’s most successful Service Centre Agency (SCA) for the Central Government’s ambitious CSC Project.
The organization is now looking forward to completing the roll out process in Punjab within a year.
“In the two zones - Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur - that have been allotted to us, we will be setting up 270 CSCs in Gurdaspur and 315 in Hoshiarpur. We have already appointed 29 block managers who will work closely with Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) to ensure a systematic and successful execution of the roll out process.” said Anurag Gupta, Manager-CSC Project, AISECT.
The orientation and training workshop for the block managers was conducted in Gurdaspur on Tuesday with a focus on aspects like project perspective, entrepreneurship and delivery of various services.
The AISECT CSCs will be offering various educational and training services including some IGNOU and CVRU courses.
The organization has also partnered with establishments like SBI, LIC, United India Insurance and Star Health to offer insurance services at these citizen service centres.
At the AISECT CSCs, villagers will also be able to avail services like railway reservation, bus and air ticketing, telecom services such as recharges and SIM sales, online recharges and bill payment. (ANI)
