Minister Ong said that AirAsia should wait until the government had ruled on their proposals before speaking to the media.

“I see no necessity for Air-Asia to tell the media every time they file for a new application,” said Minister Ong, reports New Strait Times.

“All airlines have to follow procedures when applying for a new sector or if they want to increase the number of flights,” he continues. “The ministry will process the applications according to the guidelines and will take into consideration the air traffic rights and passenger load as the key factors.”
