Air India extends scheme for unlimited travel
September 21st, 2011 - 8:42 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 21 (IANS) National carrier Air India Wednesday extended its short-term promotion scheme till January. It will now provide unlimited journeys for 15 days instead of 10 on domestic routes.
“Passengers are happy with our effort to provide them with the most competitive prices while ensuring the best customer service,” an Air India spokesperson said.
The airline decided to extend the offer after it received a positive response from passengers, the spokesperson said.
“The scheme which was introduced on June 15 has received an overwhelming response,” the company said in a statement. The scheme ended Tuesday.
“The offer entails the passengers to buy either a Silver pass priced at Rs.35,000 for unlimited travel on economy class within 15 days or a Platinum pass priced at Rs.70,000 for travel on executive class,” it said.
“The pass is being offered in two variants for unlimited travel in economy and executive class on the domestic sectors for 15 days,” it added.
Earlier, the passes were valid for travel only for 10 days. The sales commenced Wednesday and the passes would be valid for travel up to Jan 15, 2012.
“The day of commencement of the journey will be treated as the first day and 15 days will be counted from the date of the commencement of the journey for determining travel validity,” the statement said.
Currently, the flag carrier operates to 66 domestic destinations.
