Lucknow, April 4 (IANS) Air Deccan announced here Friday that it has joined hands with ICICI Lombard General Insurance to launch a domestic travel insurance scheme covering accidental medical expense, ticket cancellation and lost baggage. The insurance scheme, which costs Rs.99 per person, was started April 1. It can be availed through the Air Deccan website (www.airdeccan.net).
Ramki Sundaram, officiating CEO of Air Deccan, said: “We believe our joint offering with ICICI Lombard will help travellers evaluate their need for travel cover and avail a comprehensive and beneficial insurance package.”
The policy includes refund of medical expenses up to Rs.75,000 incurred within 24 hours of any physical injury and refund of non refundable cost of Air Deccan tickets up to Rs.10,000 if a medical emergency or natural calamity interrupts the trip.
It will provide compensation for loss of an entire piece of checked-in baggage for a maximum of two pieces at Rs.5,000 per bag and refund of Rs.3,000 per bag if checked-in baggage is delayed beyond six hours.
