3194831-lgJune 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The car industry is going through an unprecedented trend of recalls this year and it seems no major car makers will be spared at the end. The recall spree started with Toyota and it brought one problem after another for the famous carmaker. Honda was the second company to follow suit and now it seems that Ford may be the next to join the recall bandwagon. The Federal car safety regulators have issued a warning for the users of the Mercury Milan sedans and 2010 Ford Fusion models for dangers caused by floor mats of these cars. Toyota had to recall a number of its models including Camry and Prius owing to gas pedal problems earlier this year.

The auto agency has said in its report that it has got three complaints where Ford car owners found their vehicles gas pedals stuck and this was caused by the all weather floor mat. The mat just slipped forward and trapped the accelerator. However, none of the drivers met with any accident. A formal investigation is going to be launched by the agency to resolve the issue. However, it is not clear if the earlier builds of Milan and Fusion are going to be included in this recall.

A ford spokesperson said that the company always issues warnings to the customers about using all weather floor mats. However, the company has said on its part it also wants to find out the truth behind these incidents and it will fully cooperate with the NHTSA. It is not clear whether it will lead to a recall of ford cars or not.
