ACC third quarter net profit up 32 percent (Lead)
February 4th, 2010 - 8:10 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Feb 4 (IANS) Cement major ACC Thursday reported a 32.48 percent rise in net profits at Rs.1,606.7 crore for the quarter ended Dec 31, compared to Rs.1,212.7 crore earned in the like quarter of last fiscal.
The company’s total income grew to Rs.8,268.3 crore during the quarter under review, against Rs.7571.5 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a regulatory filing.
While sales grew 10.2 percent due to better realisations, volumes saw only a marginal 2.4 percent rise, the company said.
“ACC’s operating EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) was 30.4 percent in 2009, compared to 2008,” the statement added.
“Better prices, exacting control on production, distribution and other costs together enabled ACC achieve these results.”
At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the ACC scrip ended at Rs.856.75, down 2.9 percent from its previous close.
