Abu Dhabi to host world energy summit
January 5th, 2010 - 10:28 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Abu Dhabi, Jan 5 (IANS) Officials of developed and developing countries, including India, will meet here Jan 18 at the World Future Energy Summit 2010, WAM news agency reported Tuesday.
Finland’s Economic Affairs Minister Mauri Pekkarinen will be the keynote speaker at the panel session on the first day of the summit.
India’s Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah will also attend.
The Finnish government announced this year that it will support efforts to limit global warming by cutting green house gas emissions by at least 80 percent of the 1990 levels by 2050.
Officials from Canada, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Japan, South Korea, Uganda, Ghana and the UAE, among others, will participate.
