Abu Dhabi to host global economic summit
October 5th, 2011 - 8:51 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Oct 5 (IANS/WAM) Abu Dhabi will host the 4th World Economic Forum Summit Oct 10-11, it was announced Wednesday.
Over 800 experts representing educational and business sectors, the civil society and the government, among others, will participate.
The two-day summit will be co-chaired by UAE Economy Minister Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri and chairman of the Department of Economic Development, Abu Dhabi, Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi.
Al Mansouri said: “This is a unique opportunity to share and exchange insights and work together to identify new ways of meeting some of the most pressing global challenges. We look forward to participating in the discussions in Abu Dhabi.”
Al Suwaidi said: “We have a large number of experts, taking part in the working groups, helping to shape the agenda for the world economic forum annual meeting in Davos next January.”
The meeting in Abu Dhabi will address pressing global issues, including technology, climate change, economic stability and geopolitical risk.
