Abu Dhabi to host cooking festival
January 22nd, 2011 - 10:40 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Jan 22 (IANS/WAM) Abu Dhabi will host a festival of cooking art next month to showcase its tradition of hospitality and promote tourism in the emirate.The fortnight-long event — Arts of Cooking Festival - Abu Dhabi Gourmet 2011 — beginning Feb 2 has been organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and the Emirates Palace.
Janet Abrahams, executive director of sales and marketing department at Emirates Palace said the festival “is being enjoyed locally, regionally and globally as one of the most prominent events in the hotel industry and art of cooking.”
The Emirates Palace will host the most prominent chefs participating in the event, including 17 head chefs holding together 22 Michelin stars and three Chefs Hat Category, and six of the finest dessert bakers.
The festival, which is being held at several hotels in the city, will also include workshops on how to prepare UAE’s royal dinner, the Middle Eastern cooking and Arts of Cooking awards ceremony.
