“7-Eleven” Celebrates Free Slurpee Day

Free Slurpee DayDallas, July 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) July 11 which falls on Sunday marks the 83rd Birth Anniversary of 7-Eleven. Living up to their old habit, the convenience store plans to celebrate the day by offering free Slurpee (7.11-oz) for all it’s customers. This has been a tradition for 7-Eleven which have been celebrating “Free Slurpee Day” each and every year since 2002.

On Sunday, all 7-Eleven stores across America and Canada shall serve over a total of five million Slurpee frozen carbonated beverages in specially designed birthday cups. The “Slurpee-brations” shall be followed by music performances and food sampling events. 7-Eleven’s Annual “Slurpee Battle of the Bands” contest also kicks off on Sunday as 12 young musical groups depicts their talent in music.

7 Eleven fans can login into the Facebook page for this event and vote for their favorite band. The voting options shall stay open for a maximum number of three days following each performance. Stefanie Olson who happens to be the brand manager for Slurpee and Big Gulp beverages told the media that Free Slurpee Day gas gained immense importance in due course of time. People seem to have forgotten the date and remember July 11 as the Free Slurpee Day.

7-Eleven is one of the very first convenience store in America which started its operation way back in the year of 1927. Currently, the company stands as a major international retailing chain that has over 8,200 stores in North America itself and 38,100 stores all over the globe. July, which happens to be the hottest month of the year in America shall pull in heavy business for 7-eleven as people sip into ice cold Slurpees.
