600 medals given to 62 countries at Indipex 2011
February 18th, 2011 - 10:42 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 18 (IANS) The Department of Post Friday said 600 medals were given to 62 countries in various stamp categories as Indipex 2011, the week-long World Philatelic Exhibition, came to a conclusion. The event saw over one lakh visitors from across the country.
India Post also organised an awards ceremony where two highest awards were given to the exhibitors.
Martha Villarrdel De Peredo from Bolivia was given the highest award “Grand Prix de Honnour” for her exhibit of stamps on the “19th Century Bolivia”.
The “Grand Prix International” was awarded to Paul Commeli for his exhibit on “Brazilian Mail to Foreign Destinations”.
Japan will host the next exhibition in Yokohama in July 2012.
