345 rural roads found substandard in Chhattisgarh
December 9th, 2010 - 11:26 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Dec 9 (IANS) As many as 345 Pradahan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) roads were found to be sub-standard in Chhattisgarh and 17 of them are to be rebuilt, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ramvichar Netam said Thursday.
“A total of 3,647 roads were constructed in the state last year and 345 of them reported to be sub-standard,” Netam told the state assembly in a written reply to a question from Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey of the Congress.
The minister said in his reply that 17 roads were to be reconstructed afresh, nine others to be repaired while probe was under way regarding complaints of other roads reported to be sub-standard in quality.
