138 illegal structures demolished in north Delhi
November 25th, 2010 - 11:12 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 25 (IANS) As many as 138 illegal structures on government land were demolished by the revenue department Thursday in north Delhi, an official said.
The demolition took place in Narela.
“A total of 138 structures, mainly boundary walls, some rooms and houses were demolished in Bajitpur Thakran village. Criminal proceedings have also been initiated,” an official said.
About 300-400 police personnel were also involved in the demolition.
The move comes in the backdrop of a Delhi High Court direction to remove the encroachments.
