April 15, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The best-selling ‘Twilight’ book series, anchored in the theme of vampires, has joined the category of the top 10 catalog of books. These were the books that American schools and public libraries were requested to get rid of from their shelves in 2009.

But amongst the most terrible delinquents were the well-liked and adolescent novel series “ttyl” by Lauren Myracle. These were printed wholly in the manner of instantaneous messages. These are novels communicated through immediate messages that have been denounced for their nakedness, language and drug references. This information was revealed by the American Library Association (ALA) in a report.

Although they are no longer in the top 10, J.K. Rowling’s ‘Harry Potter’ series arrived atop the 100 most regularly challenged books of the 2000-2009 decade. Protestations to the best-selling stories of the boy wizard have been created over their apparent anti-family and occult premises.

The ALA mentioned that Stephenie Meyer’s ‘Twilight’ series, which has been converted into a smash hit film franchise, was fifth on the 2009 catalog. The books were challenged for being sexually unambiguous, for their religious standpoints and for being unbefitting for their age group.

Meyer’s ‘Twilight’ series, which has earned millions of dollars, was ranked No. 5 on the yearly report of “challenged books” that was released on Wednesday by the American Library Association. Meyer’s accounts of vampires and adolescent romance have been disparaged for sexual substance. The library association’s representative also believes that the “Twilight” series mirrors the broad societal apprehension about paranormal stories.

Barbara Jones is the administrator of the association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom. She has declared that vampirish novels have been a target of disparagement for years and the `Twilight’ books are so immeasurably admired that a lot of the anxiousness people have had about vampires are concentrated on Meyer’s books.

Ultraconservative Christian outfits for some years have censured the topics of wizardry in Rowling’s books, which have not emerged on the current top 10.
