“The Story Of Stuff” To Hit Market As A Book

Mar 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “The Story Of Stuff: How Our Obsession With Stuff Is Trashing The Planet, Our Communities, And Our Health - And A Vision For Change” is the new book that is written by activist Annie Leonard. Annie Leonard is famous for the short documentary that she made called “The Story Of Stuff” which has become a cult in world of documentary.
The book which is reportedly 300 pages thick elaborates on the material economy on which she made the documentary. In this book she deals with the whole process of extraction, production, distribution of the products and then how the consumption and disposal of the material goods that are sold in the market. However the whole book is not based on any one particular theoretical assumption but has provided enough examples from all over the world. Annie Leonard has discussed in this book about the real life endeavors of Haitian garment makers and Nigerians to make the world a better place. She has taken care to mention in her book people from all over the world who are striving to make a difference in the world.
Her book is the result of the tones of request that she had got from her fans who have requested her to elaborate on the matter. In her short film she has criticized the American consumer market. She has reportedly said that the questions and curiosities that people showed towards the subject could not have been answered through the visual media. It is for this reason that she chose to write a book and explain the matter.
