Garth Brooks shows a sell-out
October 26th, 2009 - 6:45 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLas Vegas, Oct 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Show Tickets for Garth Brooks’ first 20 shows at the Wynn Las Vegas resort sold out in less than five hours, since the bookings opened. The Wynn Las Vegas resort said on Saturday that it reached maximum capacity for callers at 141,934, with many callers not being able to get through.
Show officials said that the Web site, which was selling the tickets, had more than 5.4 million page views with around 40,000 fans waiting to buy tickets online at one point.
Garth Brooks had announced a five-year deal with casino owner Steve Wynn last week that included 15 weeks of shows a year in the Encore Theater, which seats about 1,500. Tickets were priced at $125 plus other fees.
Garth Brooks, the most amazing and best-selling solo act in history, plays on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays of select weeks beginning December 11.
1962 born Garth Brooks is an American country music artist. His eponymous first album was released in 1989, it peaked at a record #2 in the US country album chart and reached #13 on the Billboard 200 pop album chart. Garth Brooks’s integration of rock elements into his recordings and live performances made him very popular and allowed him very easily to dominate the country single and country album charts.
