Dan Brown’s long awaited novel “The Lost Symbol” which is being released today- Brown’s first novel since “The Da Vinci Code” in 2003, is set to run havoc at the cash counters. UK’s Asda has reportedly cut its price on the 18.99 pounds hardback to a mere 5 pounds.
“The Lost Symbol” is speculated to run havoc at the counters and has been already tagged as a possible “best-seller”. According to the sources, book worms were seen queuing up like bees outside Waterstone’s Flagship store from as early as 4 a.m., to get hold of the much anticipated book of Brown. Reports say that only Asda is expected to sell about a whopping 20,000 copies over the next week. With pre-orders of 35,000 copies of the book flocking in the Amazon.co.uk counters, it is already been believed that the sales from the aforementioned counters including Amazon will make the book top the charts of the UK best seller’s list.
“We expect to sell just under 20,000 copies of ‘The Lost Symbol’ in the coming week and our customers and colleagues alike are gearing up for one of our biggest book selling weeks of the year,” said Dewi Williams, the marketing manager of Asda.
The discount policies are quite similar to that of the final novel of Harry Potter. Bearing a striking resemblance with the methodologies and policies of the final Harry Potter novel, the storyline of Brown’s novel has been closely guarded, with heavy security deployed to protect its privacy.
With the release of this much anticipated book, the book lovers world over would certainly like to have their hands on it, as soon as possible, which is sure to create a whirlwind in the book industry.
