Amazon.com Introduces Kindle Globally, Cuts US Prices

kindleOct 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Amazon.com unveiled of its Kindle electronic reader on Tuesday that will enable the users of as many as 100 countries all over the world to download books in a matter of seconds. According to the sources, the largest online retailer has also revealed that it will be cutting down its cost in US, making the device available at $259. Earlier Kindle was priced at $299.

Sources revealed that the move is made in order to battle the ever growing competition in the market. The newly introduced device which will reach out to the global market will come into effect from the 19th of this month. According to Amazon.com founder cum CEO Jeff Bezos, “We have millions of customers in countries all over the world who read English-language books. Kindle enables these customers to think of a book and download it wirelessly in less than 60 seconds.”

The international version of Kindle is priced at $279 and will enable the users all across the globe to download books in a matter of seconds. The move made by Amazon.com paves a way for the online retailer to extend its market globally. The company actually controls almost 45 percent of the e-sales market in the States followed by Sony Corp. Sources revealed that the international Kindle is provided with a 6 inch screen and will download books via AT&T service provider.

The introduction marks a new wave in the world of electronic reader market. The international Kindle begins shipping on October 19th at will be priced at $279. The revelation will therefore mean that people across the globe can now download their books of choice instead of shipping it, the latter being more time consuming.
