In order to bring about greater efficiency in issue of visas, the collection of visa applications and delivery of visas has been outsourced to an Embassy approved service provider, VFS (Thailand) Ltd.  The service will be operational from 25 October 2007.

With the new arrangements, the Embassy will be able to provide “Next Day Service” to Thai nationals and applicants of other nationalities normally resident in Thailand i.e. the visa will be issued on the following day after an application is received. The maximum time that any visa applicant is expected to spend at the Visa Application Centre would be 20 minutes.

All visa applicants are, w.e.f. 25 October 2007, requested to directly contact :

Visa applications will be accepted from Monday to Friday from 0830 – 1500 hrs.  Visas can be collected on the next working day between 1500 – 1630 hrs.

Applicants will be charged a processing fee of Baht 450 + 7% VAT by VFS (Thailand) Ltd.  This will be in addition to the visa fee charged by the Embassy (Baht 1700 for Thai nationals). Buddhist Monks will be exempted from payment of either the processing charge or the visa fee.

These new arrangements will not be applicable to holders of diplomatic/official passports or UN Laissez Passer.  Visa applications for all persons in these categories would continue to be accepted at the Embassy between 0900 and 1100 hrs on all working days.

Comment: I am a Buddhist monk , ordained in Thailand 10 years ago currently trying to live in India since 6 years on a tourist visa wish I need to paid fully !!!! So please tell me!!! To witch Buddhist Monk the free visa is given AND IF ONLY FOR THAI BUDDHIST MONK........> IN MY CASE WITCH DOCUMENT WILL BE APPROPRIATED TO HAVE THE SAME EXEMPTION. AS A SO CALL BUDDHIST COUNTRY???THAILAND (PLEASE REFER TO SRILANKA WHERE THE VISA IS FREE FOR ALL BUDDHISTS MONKS REGARDLESS THERE NATIONALITY!!!!) THOSE REGULATION ARE SUPRISING AND SHAMEFULL BEST REGARD
