Thailand votes on new constitution |

August 19, 2007 By News Desk As Thailand closed its first-ever national referendum on the new constitution draft on Sunday, exit polls showed signs that it would get passed to become the 18th constitution in Thailand's modern political history Chinaview reports .
Approval of the charter, the country's 18th in the last three-quarters of a century, was widely expected.
By 5:30 (1030GMT), updated unofficial counting results released by media have recorded more than 1.65 million "Yes" votes nationwide, 1.09 million "No" votes, with some 55,000 as void.
