The
Punjabi Family Mela on Sunday December 9,2007 organized by
The Young Thai Sikh Association (YTSA) met astounding success with a very large gathering and lot of fun and frolic.
The crowds had started pouring in - surprisingly - as soon as the Mela opened. In an hour or so, the space in front of the stage was jam-packed.
The stage performances were appreciated and especially reflected the amount of effort gone into the preparations. The Bingo literally rocked with the prizes of
THB 10,000 and THB 20,000 for the full houses.
Just behind the stage gathering, was space for food stalls which offered
a wide variety of cuisines including Chole Bhature, Pizza, Pani Puri, Mango Lassi, Rajma chawal etc. People enjoyed the food up to the hilt.
While the adults were busy enjoying themselves, the kids were engrossed at the other end getting
their faces painted, climbing rock, playing ball etc. Many enjoyed taking the
"Idiot Test " at Thaindian.com stall and proved that they were smart.
It was a well-spent day with lots of fun filled memories. It was heard that the Mela, which was a first this time, will be a regular affair and there could even be two Melas every year. Check out the
pics here to get the complete story.
