Paris Fashion week: HRH Thai Princess and two Indian designers to participate |

September 28, 2007 By Amrit Pal Paris fashion week for spring-summer 2008 is being organized from Sep 30-Oct 8, 2007 and promises to be a great show. Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana, is holding a gala evening at the historic Opera Garnier on Saturday evening which forms the opening show of Paris Fashion Week. Also, for the first time, two Indian designers will show their collections in Paris: Manish Arora on Sunday Sept. 30th and Anamika on Sunday Oct. 7th.
A total of 88 fashion shows will be held during Paris fashion week. The schedule is filled with variety and international flavor, as demonstrated by the first Sunday of shows where designers from 10 different countries will present their collections.
HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana is the daughter of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn. Distinguished for its artistically creative designs, the young Princess' newest collection combines the best of fine Thai craftsmanship with a clever modernity.[The Nation ] Manish Arora is a product of NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology). He graduated from the faculty of fashion Design in 1994. Manish has had various shows in different parts of India and the world each reflecting his style receiving rave reviews. Manish has made costumes for a Bollywood film and for a French Film that is currently being shot. Anoushka Shankar wore a dress that he specially designed for her at the Grammy Awards 2003.
Anamika Khanna had a great career start by winning the ‘Damania Fashion Awards’ and now retails at some of India’s most high-class stores. She is known to be “A self-taught designer, her garments are fashionable and classy yet understated, unique yet simple".
