Now Garbage bins from Bangkok to be installed in Chennai Print E-mail

September 17, 2007

By Amrit Pal

The garbage clearance company Neel Metal Fanalca Environment will import 1,000 garbage bins of 600 and 700 litre capacities from Otto, Bangkok to be installed in the three Chennai corporation zones.

The firm has the responsibility of clearing garbage in the Ice House, Kodambakkam and Adyar zones but has been facing a shortage of manpower and equipment. Additionally, workers were apparently not trained in sweeping roads and clearing garbage.

Neel Metal Fanalca Environment Pvt Ltd had won the contract from the Chennai Municipal corporation. The Chennai Municipal Corporation had outsourced the job of keeping the southern metro clean after realizing that the problem was going out of control. Let's hope that we'll see a better and cleaner Chennai next time we go there!
