North-East India Investment Opportunities Week to be organised in Bangkok |

September 16, 2007 By Satya Adhar The central ministry of the Department of North Eastern Region (DoNER) in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is organising the North-East Investment Week in Bangkok from Oct 1 to 4.
The purpose is to sell the northeast to investors in Southeast Asia. The Investment Week will give an opportunity to prospective investors about the business potential of the region.
It is proposed to have seminars, business-to-business meetings, an exhibition showcasing products from North East India, a food festival, cultural evenings and a fashion show during this week.
Meanwhile, Manipur has confirmed that a 17-member delegation led by Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh will represent the state in the week. Handicrafts from Manipur would be displayed in the exhibition. The state will take all possible efforts to attract investors in the fields of food processing, horticulture, tourism, power, information technology, handloom and handicrafts in Manipur.
