Gunman kills Indian Professor, Student missing Print E-mail

The shocking campus massacre at Virginia Tech has sadly taken the life of one of the most capable Indian professor teaching in the US. An armed gunman charged into the school with a semi automatic weapon and fired shots in classrooms.  Among the 33 killed in the Virginia Tech shootout is reported to be an award-winning Indian professor who taught civil and environmental engineering at the University.

Professor G V Loganathan was educated at Madras University and the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras. According to the reports an Indian student, Minal Panchal, has also been missing since the incident. However, there has not been any bad news about any Indian Students as yet. About 700 Indian students currently study at Virginia Tech.

Thaindian.com is truly sorry for the loss of these precious lives and also hopes that all Indian students in the university are safe. Let us pray for these souls.
