A Thai soldierMultiple times gunshot sound have been heard along Thai-Cambodia border at about 2.45 pm, October 15.

Foreign Minister Sompong Amornvivat urged Thai nationals in Cambodia and innocent people to leave for home immediately after sound of gunfire were heard several times, it was assumed to take place near the disputed area near the ancient Preah Vihear temple on the ThaiCambodia border in Si Sa Ket province.

It is still unclear who fired first shot but Thai officials said that the shots were fired from the Khmer side.

Meanwhile Army Commander in Chief Gen Anupong Paochinda has instructed Thai troops along the border with Cambodia to be on high alert and to retaliate if attacked.

However, there are no immediate reports of damages or casualties from the clash which is the second time clash since October 1.
