September 14, 2007 By News Desk AI chairman and managing director V Thulasidas announced the new flights and said Kolkata-Bangkok-Kolkata flights would start on 7 October, with a one-way fare of Rs1,499 plus taxes.
Two more flights will be launched to connect Kolkata to Singapore and Kualalampur. The one-way fare to Singapore will be Rs4,999 plus taxes. These flights will take off from Kolkata around 7 am.
Currently, Air-India Express offers flights to major international destinations within a distance of around 4 hrs from different cities in India. Most of the flights are quick-turn-around flights with a ground time of around 1-hour at the destinations. Air India Express flies to 10 international destinations– Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Muscat, Salalah, Singapore, Bahrain, Doha, and Columbo from 10 Indian cities – Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthpuram, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Amritsar, Chennai, Mangalore and Tiruchirapally.
