February 23, 2009 by Amrit Rashmisrisethi The Thai police are searching for the body and identity of a foreigner whose head was found hanging by a rope off Bangkok's Rama VIII Bridge in Phra Nakhon district over the weekend. The head was apparently put in a plastic bag and hung from the bridge's railing.
It was found at about 2pm, the plastic bag was detached from the head, revealing a gruesome sight. A doctor estimated the victim had been dead for at least eight hours.
The severed head of a Western man, aged between 30 and 40, was found Sunday afternoon dangling about five metres below the Rama VIII bridge, which crosses the Chao Phraya River in northwestern Bangkok.
"I want but I cannot.... I came to Bangkok to be with you." was found written on the railing, said police chief Colonel Chavalit Prasobsilp.
"We need to urgently know who the victim was," he said. The media was requested to publish clear pictures of the victim's face to help police identify him, however at the time of publishing, no such photo is available with us.
