Mapjack LogoWeb mapping company MapJack has removed controversial photographs of the streets at Pattaya in Thailand, some of which showed Western males mingling with bar girls in the towns red light areas.

The removal of images comes after the Wednesdays publication of a report about the companys innovative mapping product in the Sydney Morning Herald.

“On May 28, 2008, MapJack temporarily removed Pattaya imagery from its site, and is planning to edit out the controversial imagery prior to reinstating it,” theage.com.au quoted an unsourced entry on MapJacks Wikipedia page as reading.

The photographs had such a good quality that it was very easy to identify people featuring in them.

Though links to Pattaya map and the images have been removed from MapJack, they are still available on the Web site pattayaphotoguide.com
