Geeta Ashram provides scholorships annually to meritorius Thai students including monks from four Universities and six schools. For this purpose, the Founder President established
THE MEKIN UERANANT SCHOLARSHIP FUND in Bangkok in 1989, currently chaired by Professor Krisda Arunvongse, former Governor of Bangkok. For the year 2005, Geeta Ashram awarded 605,000 baht to 165 deserving students. Scholarships Award Function is held annually at the Geeta Ashram premises.
Ashram Relocating PlansWith the growing activities of Geeta Ashram, a need was felt to relocate the Ashram from its present location in Yannawa to a better and bigger place. Keeping this in view, 2000 sq. meters of land has already been purchased recently in Sukhumvit Soi 50 at a cost of 17 million baht. This is a more central location with better connectivity for all modes of transport. These funds have come from generous contributions of many devotees.
It is now being planned to construct a building on this land consisting of temple, prayer hall, havanshala, dinind hall, quarters for Ashram Priest and invitees from abroad and parking facilities. The estimated cost of construction is about 20 million baht at the present material costs. These funds have to be generated through donations.
Appeal for Donations
Geeta Ashram Thailand respectfully solicit generous donations for the construction of new Geeta Ashram building in Sukhumvit Soi 50 on the land purchased recently.
The names of donors contributing 200,000 baht or more will be displayed permantly in the Ashram. Each floor of the proposed 4-storey building will bear the name of the contributor who donates 2 million baht or more, engraved on a marble slab.
Please participate in this noble task by sending your donation in the name of "Geeta Ashram" to:-
