Re:Apple IPhone in bangkok - 2008/02/06 02:11 I have seen a few people using Iphone in bangkok.

At MBK the prices are about 23 to 25,000 Baht for unlocked.

But before buying you must take note that you would be violating Apple's terms and conditions by unlocking it. I dont think you would get any after sales service from Apple.

My recommendation would be to wait until Apple officially launches in Thailand.

Re:Apple IPhone in bangkok - 2008/02/06 04:45 Talks are on.. best bet would be May-June .. Earliest before Songkran in April.
BANGKOK (Reuters) - Apple Inc and Thailand's Advanced Info Service (AIS) are in talks about selling the U.S. firm's popular iPhone in Thailand, a senior official of the Thai firm said on Monday.

"We are negotiating on details, including a revenue sharing standard. Apple needs a local operator to promote iPhone," Prattana Leelapanang, assistant vice president for AIS's wireless business marketing, told Reuters.

He gave no details of when the talks would be completed.

Re:Apple IPhone in bangkok - 2008/05/22 19:03 Hi guys .. As an iphone fan , i have researched a bit . had been to MBK , checking out price in each and every stores .. MBK offers the best deal as far as i have seen.....

What i think ,

- they are definitely original ones smuggled from US and unlocked here . best price i got for 8 GB was 17000 BAHT and 16 GB for 21000 BAHT.

- Also since its not officially launched in thailand , the after sales support is ZERO and also u cant upgrade the firmware using ITUNES to any latest O.S versions that apple might launch in future . !

- The latest firmware for iphone currently is 1.1.4. But there is news that apple is going to launch version 2.0 of the firmware that has huge support for enterprise customers ( me being one ) with full support for Microsoft exchange server, push email access n all .. So am thinking of that option also.

- Iphone is going to get launched in india in max . 2 months . Price will come to 22k for 8 GB . ( which when converted from 17k BAHT comes around the same !! ) . and also u will get full apple service support .!

I jusssst wanna buy this phone !!!!! but some logical thinking is stopping me from doing it .. there has been lot of times when i almost caught a cab and thought of going to MBK straight and buy this darn thing ! hehe

Anyways will wait n see ...
