Commenting on the issue of controversial speedster Shoaib Akhtar, The News quoted him as saying that the bowler has been given the maximum punishment and now he would not be given any leniency. He also said that Shoaib must consult a psychologist as advised by the team manager.

Ashraf further said that seven players – Shoaib Malik, Shoaib Akhtar, Muhammad Asif, Shahid Afridi, Younus Khan, Muhammad Yousuf and Inzamam-ul-Haq – have been allowed to join the Indian Premier League (IPL) and now it depends on these players that they join the Indian Cricket League (ICL) or the IPL.
