Event : The Value of Diet and Fasting in the Hindu - 2008/10/22 00:17
Garbage In, Garbage Out The Value of Diet and Fasting in the Hindu, Christian and Islamic traditions
For the first time in Thailand, three layperson practitioners of the Christian, Hindu and Islamic traditions will team up to provide some unique insights into their respective faiths’ concepts on diet and fasting. A great opportunity to hear refreshingly down-to-earth perspectives on dietary "input" vs "output" and discover that what binds humanity and its ways of life is far more important than what divides.
Neema Majmudar, Teacher of Indian Philosophy, will discuss the ways in which diet and fasting contribute to our personal development
Imtiaz Muqbil, columnist, Soul Searching, Bangkok Post, will outline the philosophy behind the fasting month of Ramadan and its holistic benefits.
Jean d'Cunha and Loy Rego, Deputy Executive Director, ADPC, will share their insights on the Significance of Fasting from a Christian Perspective.
