IIFA Weekend Bangkok, June 7th, 2008: The International Indian Film Academy, the grandest celebration of Indian Cinema, has been dedicated to building bridges across cinemas, businesses, communities and nations. In line with its innovative spirit, IIFA this year too, will be showcasing unique events in an attempt to enable Indian Cinema aficionados to experience stardom.
One of the highpoints of this year’s IIFA celebrations, the glamorous IIFA Fashion Extravaganza will present fashion lines from India and Thailand in a star-studded presentation. What makes the IIFA Fashion Extravaganza even more special is that the beneficiary is the IIFA Foundation, a charity organization set up by IIFA to support families of the film industry workers who have been adversely affected during the production of a film.
The glitzy extravaganza, hosted by the effervescent Karan Johar, showcased designs by Alta Moda, Mufti, Sabyasachi, Rohit Bal, Manish Malhotra and Vikram Phadnis. Choreographed by Lubna Adams, it featured 25 Thai models and 15 Indian models adorning jewelry from Gitanjali Lifestyle and Diamrusa.

Leading Indian cine stars walked the ramp as showstoppers for their favourite designers. While Kareena Kapoor added the glam quotient for Manish Malhotra’s designs, the cast of the forthcoming film De Talli, Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh and Ayesha Takia walked the ramp for Vikram Phadnis. The Love Story 2050 couple – Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja were showstoppers for Rohit Bal and the Mission Istanbul cast - Zayed Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Shriya Saran, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Nikitin Dheer, Shweta Bharadwaj set the ramp on fire, while showcasing the look of their soon-to-be-released film.
Acid Factory, a film that has just begun production, disclosed its first look with Dia Mirza, Fardeen Khan and Dino Morea walking the ramp, partaking in the revelry. Alta Moda’s gorgeous brand ambassador and reigning Miss Thailand- Universe, Khun Farung Yuthithum walked the ramp as their showstopper adding the Oriental quotient to the Extravaganza.
The second day of the IIFA Weekend Bangkok, the IIFA Fashion Extravaganza, presented by alternative clothing brand Mufti and Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer was held at one of Thailand’s most high profile venues, the Siam Paragon Hall.

The IIFA Weekend 2008 is being held from June 6th - 8th in Bangkok, the shopping paradise of Amazing Thailand. The IIFA Weekend, 2008 in association with Gitanjali is supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The IIFA Fashion Extravaganza is presented by Mufti and Audi, in association with Diamrusa, Gitanjali Style Fest and co-sponsored by Alta Moda.
