July 12, 2007 By Satya Adhar So the Bangkok International Film Festival is just a week away and offers a lot to all the movie buffs in Thailand. There are movies to be showcased from Thailand, India, Malaysia, Iran and many other places.
It's a special occasion for Indian origin people in ways more than one. First of all, we will have the opportunity to watch Eight Bollywood movies in nine days flat! That's a wonderful number for the Indian movie starved crowd here. Secondly, there is an opportunity to meet Bollywood legend Hema Malini in flesh and blood . Finally, the fact that there are so many Indian movies being shown in the film fetival and that it is showcasing the best works of Bollywood legend Hema Malini’s career goes on to prove that Bollywood has started making impact at global stage. The "soft power" of India that the world has been talking abuout is not some jingoistic theory. Its real and is happening right here in Bangkok. So, all ye movie buffs, mark your diaries NOW!
