The best way to describe “Contemporary Art’ is art produced in the present to depict this very moment in time. Yesterday marked a significant first in Thailand’s art world as Gallery Soulflower launched the Kingdom’s first modern Contemporary Indian Art exhibition entitled Reading Paint. H.E. Latha Reddy, Indian Ambassador to Thailand was the Chief Guest of the Opening Reception and truly appreciated the paintings displayed in the gallery. Natasha Tuli of Gallery Soulflower describes the gallery as a place where you can see ‘good art from new and upcoming artists from all over India.’

Reading Paint features works of Indian artists from all over the nation including some well known artists such as Yashwant Deshkmukh, B.M. Kamath, Pooja Iranna, Vivek Vilasini, and Murali Cheeroth.
The Gallery says that "although humans around the world speak various languages; one language which everybody can understand and interpret is the language of paint. Every artist has a thought behind each stroke of paint and each viewer has an interpretation of his own. Art communicates to people of all ages, from children to adults, across cultures and language barriers."
