TI- Recently when Mr. N R Narayanmurthy was here in Bangkok, did you meet him? What did he say?
Ajay - Yes I did meet Narayan Murthy uncle. It was so nice of him to call me from his hotel and invited me to come and meet him. I was honored to get blessings from him. He told me that “Ajay I am proud of you and also the whole country is proud of you”. He has asked me to visit his office in Bangalore and see how development is going on there. He is such a humble and nice person. I would love to know more about him and meet him again in India.
TI- One question for you Mr. Ravi Puri – How do you guide Ajay to shun all the limelight and kudos he is receiving and concentrate on what is important and vital for him? You know what I mean to say – in this impressionable age it is important to protect the kid from the negative effects of media exposure. How to you ensure this?
Ravi - Hi Ashish. As you know by now that Ajay spends most of his time for school studies. Rest of the time at home myself and my wife Mamta ensure that he learns our culture most important being respecting elders and helping the younger. I, in fact, make him see good Indian Movies where he learns some positive things of life. His Grandparents are often on video conference with him from India and teach him other important things of life.
Just for example Ajay has been visiting many schools and institutions like home for the aged, handicapped children and encouraging them to see the positive side of life. In fact the gifts that he gets from some business houses, he makes it a point to distribute to those institutions.
Well I have reduced the media exposure quite a lot as it was affecting his studies but yes of course it was also encouraging children world wide and so I did not stop it completely.
Recently Ajay was in Calcutta to train about 5000 school children in basic computer applications. He received a lot of emails from them and their parents. They were happy that the training had actually motivated them which was the sole purpose of this training. Therefore I think if you are taking the media exposure in a limited and positive manner in fact it has a positive effect. Over to Ajay.
TI - Ajay, have you also designed website for any company on a commercial basis? I am sure there must be lot of offers.
Ajay - I do have received commercial offers but my dad did not allow me to take up any. I have not designed any website on commercial basis. I just do it for fun and my learning. I have done a website for our Apartment building in Hyderabad where my grandparents live. Recently I had made http://www.hindithai.org for Thailand Hindi Parishad under guidance from Narayan Uncle. I will be very soon making website for Atul Jogani uncle with web address http://www.joganientertainment.com He has done quite a lot for Indians in Thailand. He also made me meet Sonu Nigam Uncle as I love his songs. Jogani Uncle will be now doing quite a lot for talent promotion in Thailand for Indians. I would be assisting him in any way I can in this mission.
TI - What has been the most exciting moment of your life?
Ajay - The most exciting moment was when I saw my brother Adarsh as a cute little baby for the first time in hospital where he was born and also when I was face to face with Mr Bill Gates, my mentor .
TI - Which class are you in? How do your teachers treat you? How about friends?
Ajay - I am in grade 6 at The Regent International School. My teachers are very good and treat not only me but other kids also very well. My Friends are very good and I am still making some more friends as I had recently shifted to this school.
